James and the folks at Casa del Fuego Music and The End Records are pleased to announce the release of the new song “My Old Neighborhood” and the re-release of Wake Up and Dream Digital Deluxe as iTunes exclusive items.
The “My Old Neighborhood” EP will include the long version of the song, the radio edit, and a very cool video directed by Mary Ellen Matthews of SNL fame. The digital deluxe version of WUAD will include the two versions of “My Old Neighborhood” and the video. The song was recorded in late 2011 with the band (Aaron Comess, Oli Rockberger, John Shannon, and Drew Mortali with an assist from Counting Crows multi-instrumentalist David Immergluck) at the Brooklyn studio of industry veteran Mike Musmanno who produced and mixed the track. The song is already garnering airplay on non-comm and satellite radio. James hopes you all like the song!!! Bio
British born James Maddock was first recognized in the U.S as leader of the band Wood (Songs From Stamford Hill - Columbia Records). Songs From Stamford Hill, which remains a fan favorite 10 years later, produced a Top 5 Triple A hit (Stay You) and was included in the first Dawson’s Creek compilation. In 2009 Maddock released the exquisite collection of songs, Sunrise On Avenue C, for which he won the 2010-11 NY Music Award for Best Americana Album. Maddock followed Sunrise in 2011 with Wake Up and Dream. NYC’s WFUV 2011 Listener’s Poll named Wake Up and Dream as one of the top albums of 2011. The song “Beautiful Now”, co-written with Mike Scott of Waterboys fame, was named the #9 song of 2011 in the same poll.
